Background

I have practiced law in Fergus Falls since 1976. I am a native of Detroit Lakes, MN and a graduate of Luther College, Decorah, Iowa and the University of Minnesota Law School. I also have two years of theological education at Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul.

Personally, I have been a long time board member and have served as President of Operation Bootstrap Africa, a non-profit corporation that raises money for educational purposes in Africa, primarily for the country of Tanzania. I have been to the school in Tanzania several times and have seen the efforts of this corporation first hand. In my spare time I enjoy woodworking and spending time at my tree farm where I also keep bees.

My wife, Marion, is the Associate Director of Public Health in Otter Tail County. We have four grown children, including a scientist, salesman, social worker and a Lutheran pastor. You can imagine the conversations around our dinner table during family meals!
